In summary

Lake Barkley "Boots Randolph" Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and scenic setting within the Kentucky State Park system. The course offers a mix of forgiving and challenging holes, with tree-lined fairways and undulating greens that require strategic play. While the staff receives high marks for friendliness, some visitors have noted issues with tall rough making it difficult to find balls and a lack of water coolers on the course. Despite some ongoing renovations, many find the course to be a great value and enjoyable experience.

Fun, playable course at a fair price! I'm new to golfing the Clarksville, Tennessee area, but this is my favorite course so far.

Decent course for the $20 greens fee. Not especially challenging. In fact, the only balls we lost were balls that disappeared under the vast spread of dead leaves on the ground. It may be interesting to see how it plays in the spring.

Golfers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky need to look no further than their state park system when looking for challenging and affordable golf opportunities. There are three state parks in the southwestern part of the state that could be packaged together as part of a Kentucky State Parks golf outing. Each of these parks has a bevy of lodging and dining options as well as plenty of things to do for the entire family. Lake Barkley State Resort Park Golf Course in Cadiz, Kentucky is not a course you will find by accident but once you get there you’ll be glad you made the trip. Located in an area…

Good 18-hole outing....... doing some work along various parts of the course but doesn't impede play. Good shape considering how extremely DRY it's been.

Course was in great shape for fall. The greens were a challenge with lots of undulations but consistent weight. Staff were friendly. Very flat course but has some good twists that keep it challenging

This course is awesome! I was amazed at the quality of course you got for not only the cost, but the location and the fact it’s a municipal course. It’s lined by woods on every hole and provides a nice challenge that forces players to make shot selections off the tee. This is not a wide open course that allows you to bomb the ball and wedge in on every hole. It certainly found a way to present a challenge even when the tips are only 6600 yards long. All this also includes freshly installed Bermuda greens that roll very nicely, if you don’t know how to read the grain of Bermuda grains yet, I’d…

The course is beautiful and in great shape. The new greens are in perfect shape and will only get better, but difficult to read. Once they get faster those downhill putts will be impossible. Fairways were perfect. Lots of trouble if you don’t hit it straight. The rough is too tall. Your ball sinks down not only making it hard to find but difficult to hit out of. They have rough in front of most the greens also making it impossible to run the ball up. Many of the tees needed to be mowed lower making it difficult hitting off them. Green fees were reasonable.

Discourse was great to play on! Some unforgiving holes and some very forgiving which to me is a great balance. I gave four stars because there wasn't a huge option on water coolers throughout the 18 holes and it is hot outside. It's a small complaint, and I should remember to bring my own water next time LOL, but it would be nice to have more water on The course on hotter days. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the greens are in great condition! I really enjoyed my time on the course

Amazing, tough, long and nature everywhere. Greens were perfect. Nobody at our heels hitting into us all day. Excellent little driving range and pitch and putt area. Reasonable prices for what you get, especially the fare sale I found for the 12:50 tee time.
